“happiness is only real when shared”
quote from “into the wild”
my adrenaline starts pumping from the first riff of the song to the last one.
no matter where i am i feel like screaming and singing to this song till it ends… rock n roll!
since the moment i finished watching “adventureland” yesterday, i couldn’t stop listening to hüsker dü…
as soon as the movie ended, i cleaned the dust out of my “candy apple grey” vinyl, put it on my turntable and enjoy once more the always fantastics bob mould, greg norton and grant hart.
i wish i could go back and live the late 80’s as a 20 something person, driving in that car with kristen (stewart) and jesse (eissenberg) while listening to that cassete really really loud. nothing else seemed to matter. no communication with the real world for a while. just a couple of beers, good music, and a good conversation about everything and nothing at the same time.
billy corgan always takes me to places i’ve never been before… with that soft voice, he sings without making an effort, taking me, almost without noticing, out of this world.
the song every songwriter want to have written, the lyrics every poet would like to call his own and the song every person make his at least once in his life.
So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell,
blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We’re just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have you found? The same old fears.
Wish you were here.
